BACKGROUND

OBC Publishing Company has been uniting employees and businesses through its five bimonthly magazines since 1988. These publications are distributed company-wide to more than 80 Southern California employers.

The magazines are produced for Employee Associations, Human Resources departments, Company Recreation clubs and other Employee Services organizations. Each issue contains announcements about services these organizations provide such as: discount tickets to theme parks, movie theatres, sporting events, concerts and other leisure-time activities.

Also included are discount offers from local businesses that want their advertising message in the hands of working people who get regular paychecks. Employees, their families and friends refer to the magazines often to take advantage of the savings.

Total circulation is 80,000 with an estimated readership of 200,000 based on a household of two and a half persons per magazine (spouses and children). Our readers are employees in the aerospace, engineering, aviation, medical and other technical fields.

MEET THE STAFF

Patty D., President
A graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising, Patty has worked in the Employee Services field since 1990 first as an employee, then eventually owner, of OBC Publishing Company. OBC Publishing has been producing magazines for Employee Associations of several major Southern California employers for more than 16 years. Employee Savings Tickets was launched in September 1999 to provide corporate discounts to employees of companies that do not have an Employees Association. Born and raised in the Detroit area, Patty moved to Southern California in 1988.

Joy A., Production Manager
Educated in fine art, graphics and illustration at the Otis Parsons Arts Institute and Pasadena’s Art Center College of Design, Joy has worked in almost every aspect of the publishing business. She is also an award-winning artist and writer. As Manager, Joy oversees all aspects of production: advertising, graphics, editorial, web support and more. When she is not working, Joy is an avid road cyclist and triathlete. Joy is a native of Pasadena, California.

Lorraine G., Administrator and Marketing Manager
Lorraine came to work for OBC Publishing/Employee Savings Tickets in September of 2005, first as a cashier and then eventually becoming administrator. Prior to that she worked in Sales and Customer Service for more than six years. Born and raised in the South Bay area, Lorraine truly appreciates everything it has to offer. She spends most of her free time enjoying all the Southern California attractions with her family.

Jessica Q., Ticket Sales
Jessica is a graduate of Los Angeles Harbor College with an Associates Degree in Business Administration. She has worked in the Customer Service Field for more than 14 years and truly enjoys working with people. In her spare time she enjoys spending quality time with her family such as going to the park, taking walks on the beach and watching movies. She is a local of San Pedro, California.

Maricela L., Ticket Sales
A part time employee of OBC Publishing/Employee Savings Tickets, Maricela is working towards her undergraduate degree in Psychology. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and family.
